External Entities

  1. University Partnership Program
  • Part of IEEE, large IEEE branches
  • Kristen McCartney, gives us money and free swag
  • 2-3 months she hosts meetings with other IEEE branches
  1. IEEE San Diego
  • Every first Wednesday of every month meeting
  • Beginning of meeting for student updates
  • You can ask for money (ie graduation sashes, Hard Hack)
  • Doug Evans - IEEE Student Branch Coordinator
  1. ECE Department
  • Go to 7th floor and grab the Qualcomm key a day before your event (Dean of Engineering’s office)

  • Closes at 4pm every weekday, get the key before the door closes

  • Drop key in dropbox

  • Department offices are on the 2nd floor

  • Julie’s office, Chelsea Largoza (special events coordinator, cohosts ECE events like Hard Hack, runs the ECE Instagram, makes purchases via the department’s credit card), Assistant to the Chair (Jordan), Bill Lin (department chair)

  • ECE student affairs office - two student advisors (Myda Prado and Shannon Goodison) - they show up to all the tabling events + Charmaine (Director of Student Affairs)

  • Crystal manages index fund - money person

  • Room 2315 can be reserved, small classroom

  • Testing and Exec MPR rooms only for specific purposes

  • Clean up with vacuum in Henry Booker through other door

  • Have to take out the trash at every event

  • TA Room, HKN Room, TESC office on the 4th floor

  • Service elevator behind the 4th floor

  1. Paul Siegel + Bank Account Info
  • Paul Siegel - faculty advisor, try to meet with him every quarter
  • Try to get his guidance and ideas/signature guy
  • Siegel is a constant owner of the bank account, two new presidents and him switch accounts

  • Put address of 7835 Trade St., Suite 100 San Diego, California 92121- put Attention IEEE as the label
  • Can address mail to either EBU1 4710 (PS) or the CMRR lobby
  1. Booking at PC
  • Before your event (booking PC Ballrooms), you have to email Rosalie Celestial and set a meeting with her (event coordinator for University Center) and Brook Falkensein (University Centers Tech Guy)
  • Ability to subsidize tech fee of $500 once a year with a valid reason

  • Do conflict resolution workshop for 3 hours
  • Opens up in August
  • Overlap period from August - November where old principal members can still use their perms
